A series of recycled bowls. Each piece as something that makes it unique from the rest, creating diverse aesthetic and formal results.
The Recycled Bowl Series explores innovative use cases for discarded materials, emphasizing their unique properties and the techniques required to transform them into second-life objects.
Fruit foam nets were selected for their stretching and bending capabilities, as well as their diverse shapes, sizes, and textures. Steel mesh was incorporated to provide structural stability, ensuring the desired form could be maintained after molding the foam nets. Its use eliminates the need for adhesives or additional materials by securing the foam with steel wires.
The geometric shapes of the bowl’s compartments were complement the textures and patterns of both the foam and the steel mesh.

The combination of these two materials creates a distinctive sensory and visual experience. The rough, shiny, and sharp edges of the steel mesh contrast with the soft, sponge-like texture of the foam net, making each piece visually striking and tactilely engaging.
These materials, can be repurposed into an array of shapes and sizes, enabling the creation of this expansive and versatile series.
While the pieces share a cohesive aesthetic, each one is unique. The different sized storage compartments, defined by geometric shapes, offer diverse and practical use cases.
